The choice of the name "Trail of The Kings" holds deep historical significance. The Bataknese people, native to the Lake Toba region, have a rich cultural heritage. In the past, these remarkable people were known as kings who forged new communities by blazing trails through the dense forests and challenging terrains of the region. By adopting this name, BPODT intends to pay homage to the historical role of the Bataknese people as trailblazing leaders who paved the way for the development of their communities.

As we read upon the hallowed grounds of the largest volcanic eruption site in the world, runners will embark on a journey like no other. With the 100K category boasting the longest route, participants will navigate through rugged terrains, dense forests, and breathtaking vistas, paying homage to the ancient legends that echo through the hills and valleys.
